Did you know:

In Texas, a Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, as well as undertake a two-year apprenticeship before obtaining a license from the State of Texas to perform certified land surveys.

In Texas, a Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS) is rare. There is a very small fraction of surveyors in Texas that have met the requirements to obtain an LSLS. An LSLS has extensive knowledge of Laws of Land Boundaries and precedents of land law set up by the courts and take an oath to disclose certain information to the General Land Office. An LSLS has the ability to provide services for the state of Texas & Federal Government.

What is Land Surveying?

A surveying professional is called a Land Surveyor. Surveying or land surveying is the technique, profession, and science of determining the three-dimensional position of points and the distances and angles between them using mathematics, specialized technology, and precision equipment. Land Surveyors work both in the field and in the office on a variety of projects such as land title surveys, highway designs, hydrographic mapping, major construction, and site development. Land Surveyors are experts in determining land size and measurement.

Surveyors use the latest technology available such as GPS Stations, Robotic Total Stations, and digital levels to perform calculations, and observe physical evidence to define property boundaries or locate features. They use sophisticated computer aided drafting software to create maps that reflect the physical measurements obtained in the field to facilitate the work of engineers, architects, developers, and more.

At Hugo Reed we employ Surveyors in Training (SIT), Registered Professional Land Surveyors, and a Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS).

Our land surveyors work side-by-side with our professional civil engineering & land planning services divisions for fast turn around and maximum efficiency on your projects.

We are an officially Licensed Surveying Firm in Texas & Oklahoma.
